Council on Commercial Diplomacy is the oversight regulator of the Commercial Diplomacy profession. The Council is responsible for setting the standards of education, training, qualifications and qualifying exams that practitioners of commercial diplomacy must pass before qualifying for Mastership in Commercial Diplomacy and QCD - Qualified Certified Commercial Diplomat, together with the further training requirements that certified commercial diplomats must comply with throughout their careers.
The Global Council
The Council was founded by Association of Certified Commercial Diplomats, the first global professional body for commercial diplomats, as its authorised regulatory body with the right to enforce obedience. The Council is independent and empowered to deal with all matters which in its opinion may jeopardise the maintenance and safeguarding of integrity of the commercial diplomacy profession, the professional body and practitioners worldwide.
Members of Council are distinguished persons and practitioners elected based on their professional background, integrity, recognised knowledge and expertise. Members are familiar with the research, development and specialised programmes of the professional body and are elected with independent input as proposed by the Standing Executive Council of the professional body. Its regulatory arrangements are transparent and open.
Election of Members
Members are mostly Distinguished Fellows of the international professional body (ACCD), Chairs of Institutional Members, Life Founder Members and Heads of other Professional Institutions who are elected globally on the basis of their individual interests, integrity, recognised knowledge and expertise, professional background, positions, leadership capability, representation, vision and dedication to the promotion, advancement and professional practice of commercial diplomacy; and willingness to participate in the dynamic life of both the profession and the professional body.
