The Governing Board
The Trustees elect the Governing Board who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Association, review the strategies and performance of the Association's administrative team, and assist in long-range planning and development. The Board is headed by President who manages and directs the professional body and being in the forefront of developing strategies and programmes to meet the challenges and opportunities for the commercial diplomacy profession and practitioners worldwide. Members of the Board are elected to terms of one to three years, subject to an overall limit of ten consecutive years of service.
The Executive Board
The Executive Board is independent and charged with oversight of the Professional Body. It has the executive power and exercises all powers of the Board of Trustees except as reserved by law or the By-Laws to the Board. The Presidium is headed by the Executive Vice President and Chairman of Council on Commercial Diplomacy who is equal parts diplomat, advocate and Member of the Board of Trustees. The Chairman directs the Council, adding value to the services which it provides for its members and also being in the forefront of developing strategies and programmes to meet the challenges and opportunities for the commercial diplomacy profession and its stakeholders. The Chairman also performs such other functions such as representing the Professional Body and the Council at the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC); the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organised Crime (UNCTOC); and other Interregional, regional and world events.
The Board of Overseers - Founder Members
These are distinguished diplomats (elected by Council) who have made outstanding contribution to global trade, international economic and commercial diplomacy. Also, experienced practitioners with significant experience and in-depth knowledge of commercial diplomacy; international trading system; international trade, investment and commercial arbitration; intellectual property dispute settlement; international trade policy; specialist diplomacy skills relevant to their practice; or have made a significant personal contribution. Life Founder Members can be awarded to other distinguished experts, professionals or dignitaries whose activities have been of significant benefit to the economic community. Just like Distinguished Fellows, Life Founder Members are automatically elected as Members of Council on Commercial Diplomacy.
