Governance
Members of the Governing Council are elected to terms of one to three years, subject to an overall limit of ten consecutive years of service. The Governing Council elects the President of the global professional body.
Presidency
Elected President of the Association who is also a member of the Governing Council reviews the strategies and performance of the Association's administrative team. He also assists in long-range planning and development. The Office exercises all powers of the Governing Council except as reserved by law or the By-Laws to the Board.
Council on Commercial Diplomacy
The Council on Practise
Council on Commercial Diplomacy is the oversight regulator of the Commercial Diplomatic profession. Headed by Chairman of the Presidium and member of the Governing Council. The Council is responsible for setting the standards of education, training, qualifications and qualifying examinations that practitioners must pass together with the further training requirements for Qualified Certified Diplomat. Members also perform such other functions as representing the global professional body as delegates to the annual Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC); the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organised Crime (UNCTOC); and other Interregional, regional and world events. The Chairman of Council on Commercial Diplomacy being in the forefront of developing strategies and programmes to meet the challenges and opportunities for the unique profession and members of the global professional body adds value to the services which the Council provide.
The International Board of Overseers
The Board of Overseers was created by Chairman of Council on Commercial Diplomacy as an International Advisory Body (Honorary). Members (elected by Council) are distinguished diplomats, members of the judiciary, arbitrators, legislators and respected practitioners with significant experience and in-depth knowledge of commercial diplomacy; international trading system; international arbitration; foreign service; international human rights; anti-corruption and or specialist diplomatic skills relevant to their practises. Other distinguished experts, professionals or dignitaries whose activities have been of significant benefit to the economic community and commercial diplomatic affairs may also be invited by Council. Life Founder Members may be elected to Membership of the Board of Overseers and or Council on Practise.
