Chartered Diplomat

Chartered Diplomat, the first ever professional standard for diplomats is awarded only by ACCD to persons of outstanding intellectual ability. This is the main category of qualification denoting a level of both educational and professional achievement required followed by the development, through significant practical professional experience, of key skills at the senior executive level. The award of Chartered Diplomat status will demonstrate your competence and professionalism. It will also show a unique and serious commitment to career and the profession of commercial diplomacy. Chartered Diplomat provides you with recognition of your personal and professional achievement in attaining and maintaining high standards of commercial diplomacy knowledge, expertise, skills, unique experience and probity.

ACCD works closely with diplomatic missions, and other diplomatic and educational institutions to ensure that candidates have the appropriate skills, expertise and knowledge to qualify for Mastership, QCD and Chartered Diplomat status.

Chartered Diplomat (C. Dipl)

A customized programme is available to candidates whose qualifications meet only part of the requirements for exemption. Any person engaged in the practice of multilateral trade negotiations, economic and commercial diplomacy, international dispute settlement, peace building and anti-corruption and working in a related field may apply, as the Council may from time to time determine, who by a combination of approved educational qualification, initial Professional Development and Professional Review, has attained a competency in related field and a commitment to the Profession and its code of conduct.

Delivery

As a global professional body, ACCD delivers both distance and work-based learning and training through its affiliates, global collaborative and strategic partners, corporate and institutional members worldwide and through regionally delivered courses in host countries, working directly with government ministries, academic institutions, diplomatic academies, corporations, international organizations, and NGOs. ACCD identifies training needs and develops in collaboration with its partners, customized training programmes on global trading system, commercial diplomacy, arbitration, investment, development, and trade negotiations.
